FAQs

We’ve compiled a list of the questions we get asked the most about our cottage:

Q. Do you have parking?

Yes, we have space for multiple cars and the parking is off-road, unmarked, unallocated right outside the property. Please see our house rules for advice on where to park.

Q: Do you Allow Pets?

A: Yes

Q: Do you allow children?

A: Yes

Q: What size are the bunk beds/ will they fit adults?

A: They are the size of a normal single bed, so the answer is: they can fit adult human beings. The size of a UK single mattress (and ours) is 90cm by 190cm and this should then accommodate a 6 ft individual at 182cm.

Q. Do you need a car?

A. You don’t need one but it would be ideal. You can read our getting here and getting around blog post to understand fully the options for getting around and about.

Q. Are there electric charging points?

Not at the cottage no, but you can find them not far in the nearest town less than 3 miles. I suggest Morrisons (Ebbw Vale – NP23 5WS) as there should be a 50kW charger.

Q. Is there anywhere to store mountain bikes?

A. You can store bikes in the out buildings in the garden, but it is a bit roomy. There’s probably space for about 2 bikes in the shed, and you’d need to bring your own padlock to put on it temporarily if you intend to store them in there.

Q. What is the wifi situation?

A. We have a router that provides broadband and wifi aka internet to the house.. it is above the microwave. If this is down due to bad weather or technical fault or what have you – then we have the 4G dongle. Using the 4G dongle for netflix is probably not going to be ideal – it is purely a backup for basic internet. I have “worked from home” several times at the cottage where needed, and find the speed to be sufficient.

Q. Where are the nearest shops and supermarkets?

A. They’re less than 2 miles away.. so you can walk or drive to the shops.

Q. How close is the nearest mountain/walk?

A. Literally right outside your doorstep.. we are surrounded by mountains and local walks.

Q. What time is check out and check in?

A. We like to be flexible for guests, so, we will endeavour to allow a check in and out time that suits. However as a general rule check in tends to be at 4.30pm, and check out is at 10.30am if not otherwise agreed or specified.
